Middlesex Newspaper (2007)
Neely Washington, from the Middlesex Newspaper, came to me recently and asked me to design new headers for the paper. She informed me that the paper would soon be available in color.
Having worked with Neely before, I had a pretty good idea what she was looking for. Here are the four seasonal headers that I created over the past couple of months.

Photo's (2002 - 2006)
During the last few years, I have enjoyed going to shows and taking photos of different bands and their light shows. Some venues are strict about taking in cameras due to copyright laws. HOB will never let you bring in cameras and may even kick you out if you take photos with a camera phone.
Other venues tell you on the way in not to use the flash. I always thought this was funny cause if know how to take good shots, you know not to use the flash in the first place. This will allow you to get good crisp images of the lights.

These two shots are examples from the links below. I've managed to create a decent collection since obtaining my digital in 2002.

Most of my work on the computer is done using Adobe Illustrator. I've moved almost completely away from Photoshop, using it only for file conversion and resizing. All of the web sites I've designed are coded with Macromedia Dreamweaver and Fireworks.

20th Anniversary T-Shirts (2004)
In 2004 Lowell asked me to design a T-Shirt for the video store. We wanted to celebrate the 20th anniversary by giving limited T-Shirts to our customers.
I instantly wanted to do a series of shirts in the style of 60's and 70's psychedelic concert posters. Kate helped me with the layout. Keeping in mind the designs had to be family friendly, we almost passed on Chinatown due to the cigarette, but that was the one I really wanted to do.
Recently we decided to due another run of T's since we have a lot of new staff. I'm working on them now, and will post them when their done.

Pen & Ink (1998 - 2000)
During my first year at SCAD, a friend of mine was assigned a stippling project. His work was ok, but I thought it could be better. Using the same techniques he learned at class, I set out to make my friend look like a fool. Two weeks later "Kevin Kline" was done.
I received so many comments about the piece I began a second stippling and went on to produce three more of the drawings. Here are the first three. The fourth is currently displayed in Albuquerque, "Claire Danes". In my opinion, Claire is the best, someday I'll have to photograph it.

"William H. Macy"

"Anthony Hopkins"
My college career took a serious turn Sophomore year. I began experimenting more, in an attempt to move away from photo-realism. These drawings are free-hand, but still capture the tight composition I've always strived for. You will also notice the beginning of my fascination with type face.

Marker (1997-1999)
Here is some of my early work. Between my Sophomore and Senior year in high school, I started to become more interested in mediums other than sketching with a pencil. These illustrations also represent my first adventures into color. I call them the "Marker Collection", illustrated using Design 2 markers.

"Batman"

"Robin"

"Wolverine"

"Rogue"

"Shi"

"Deadpool"

"Iron Man"

"Calvin & Hobbes"

"Pink Panther"
I quickly became less interested in color, but still tried to expand with marker. These last two are my favorites from the collection.
